Q. What is the source of your berberine?
A. Although the compound berberine is found in many botanicals, the berberine in Berberine MetX is a root and bark extract from Berberis aristata, also known as Indian barberry. Berberine has been noted for generations in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese practice as having benefits for many aspects of well-being. Current research beyond metabolic-related factors has found that berberine may support cognitive health and brain function as well as cellular, cardiovascular, and liver function.*
Q. Why does Berberine MetX have less berberine per capsule than the regular Berberine supplement?
A. The key to Berberine MetX is in the specialized absorption delivery method that is part of the formula. Standard berberine can be difficult to absorb—that’s why you’ll see recommended dosages often start with a 500 mg dose and increase to a 1500 mg dose, or higher. We’ve paired berberine in Berberine MetX with our GammaSorb® delivery system which has been shown to increase the absorption of certain hard to absorb (fat soluble) dietary ingredients, in some cases by as much as 8 times.
